Role: Portfolio Design, Layout, Typography, Visual Direction
Responsibilities: Content structuring, visual hierarchy, international positioning
Scope: PDF portfolio (French language) for European market integration
Rodrigo Muscat is a Brazilian architect who relocated to Geneva to build his career in one of Europe's most competitive architectural markets. His existing portfolio was designed for a Brazilian audience and failed to communicate his work in a way that resonated with Swiss studios: wrong language, wrong visual register, wrong pacing.

Task
The brief was to redesign the portfolio from the ground up for the European market, in French, with a visual language and presentation hierarchy that felt native to the context he was entering, not the one he was leaving.

Action

Restructured the project hierarchy to lead with the work most relevant to Swiss studio standards, prioritising clarity of process over volume of output. Adapted typography and layout to align with the restrained, precision-focused aesthetic expected in European architectural presentation. Wrote and adapted all content in French to remove friction with local recruiters and signal genuine commitment to market integration.

Result

Within one month of applying with the new portfolio, Rodrigo secured a position at an architecture studio in Geneva. The portfolio did not just present his work, it repositioned him as a candidate who understood the market he was entering.
