17% up on rain gear, right on schedule

The problem

Rain gear was sitting in stock even as Australia moved into its wet season, the exact window it should have been moving fastest. The product was right, the timing on the calendar was right, but the creative wasn't doing anything to connect the two.

The strategy

These ads were built to sell, not to brand-build. I leaned on three levers at once, calling out real product differentiators and colour options directly on the creative, timing the push to the season, launching rainwear right as the wet season hit, and running a few deliberately simple ads that used behavioural reinforcement, a plain compliment, a plain claim, rather than a hard sell.

Seasonal push

Timed to Australia's wet season, local place names, local relevance

Behavioural reinforcement
Deliberately plain, a single social claim standing in for a whole pitch

Why mix all three

A feature callout convinces someone who is already comparing. A seasonal hook catches someone who wasn't thinking about the product at all. A plain compliment ad works on people who tune out anything that reads like an ad. Running all three meant no single kind of buyer was left unanswered, and the stock stuck in the warehouse finally had a reason to move.

Outcome

17% increase in sales

for rain-related products, right as the season hit
